Ingredients List
The Special Sauce:
⦁ 100g | 3.5 oz Mayonnaise
⦁ 2 tbsp Sweet Pickle Relish
⦁ 1 tbsp Yellow Mustard
⦁ 1 tsp White Vinegar
⦁ ½ tsp Garlic Powder
⦁ ½ tsp Onion Powder
⦁ ½ tsp Paprika
⦁ 2 tbsp White onion, finely minced (rehydrate dried minced onion in water for the most authentic flavor)
The Burger:
⦁ 450 g| 158 oz (1 lb) Ground Beef (20% fat is best)
⦁ Salt and black pepper to taste
⦁ 4 Sesame Seed Burger Buns (You will need an extra bottom bun for the middle layers)
⦁ 0.06 kg | 2 oz Iceberg Lettuce, finely shredded, slice tomato and caramelized onion
⦁ 4 slices Processed American Cheddar Cheese
⦁ 8-12 Dill Pickle slices
Step-by-Step Gide
⦁ Make the Sauce: Whisk all sauce ingredients together in a small bowl. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let flavors meld.
⦁ Prepare the Buns: For two burgers, you need a top, a bottom, and a middle slice (the "club" layer). Slice the tops off two extra bottom buns to create the middle layers. Toast all bun pieces gently in a dry pan.
⦁ Prep the Patties: Divide the beef into 4 equal portions (about 4 oz / 115g each). Press them into very thin, wide patties (they will shrink when cooking). Season generously with salt and pepper.
⦁ Cook the Beef: Heat a skillet or griddle over high heat. Sear the patties for roughly 2 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
⦁ Assembly (From bottom up):
⦁ Bottom Bun -> Sauce -> Lettuce -> Cheese Slice -> Beef Patty -> Onion -> Pickles.
