Perfect Sticky Chicken Wing Marinade

Yield: Enough for 1 kg (2.2 lbs) chicken wings
Prep Time: 10 minutes | Marinade Time: 2–4 hours | Cook Time: 30–40 minutes

Ingredients

½ cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
¼ cup honey
2 tbsp brown sugar
3 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
2 tbsp sesame oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
1 tsp chili flakes (optional)
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp cornstarch
¼ cup water
Freshly cracked black pepper to taste


Instructions

Prepare Marinade:
Whisk soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, chili flakes, and tomato paste until smooth.

Marinate Wings:
Coat wings in marinade and refrigerate for 2–4 hours (overnight for best flavor).
Cook Wings:

Oven: Bake at 200°C (400°F) for 30–40 mins, turning halfway.
Grill: Grill over medium heat, basting with extra marinade.


Make Sticky Glaze:
Simmer leftover marinade with cornstarch slurry until thick and glossy. Brush over wings before serving.


Serving Suggestion
Top with toasted sesame seeds and spring onions.
