CRISPY POTATO WEDGES – GOLDEN, CRUNCHY & FLAVORFUL

Crispy potato wedges are the ultimate side dish, combining golden crunch with fluffy centers. Easy to make and irresistibly tasty, they’re perfect for family meals, parties, or as a snack with dips.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 kg (2.2 lbs) potatoes, scrubbed and cut into wedges
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) olive oil
  • 5 g (1 tsp) salt
  • 5 g (1 tsp) black pepper
  • 5 g (1 tsp) paprika
  • 5 g (1 tsp) garlic powder
  • 5 g (1 tsp) dried oregano
  • 15 g (1 tbsp) grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

STEP-BY-STEP COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Wash and scrub potatoes, then cut into even-sized wedges.
  3. Place wedges in a bowl of cold water for 20 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat dry.
  4. Toss wedges with olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and oregano until evenly coated.
  5. Arrange wedges in a single layer on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake for 35–40 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if desired, and serve hot with your favorite dip.

HELPFUL COOKING TIPS

  • Soaking potatoes in cold water helps achieve extra crispiness.
  • Use parchment paper or a lightly greased tray to prevent sticking.
  • For added flavor, sprinkle wedges with fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme before baking.
  • Double-bake for extra crunch: bake once, cool slightly, then bake again at high heat.
  • Serve with sour cream, guacamole, or spicy mayo for variety.
